Director, Institutional Marketing Asia

Our client is a leading financial services provider committed to making decisions easier and lives better for their customers and colleagues around the world. Reporting to the Head of Institutional Marketing, EMEA and Asia, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of marketing strategy and campaigns for the institutional asset management business, building brand awareness and driving AUM in line with corporate objectives in key markets across Asia including but not limited to Hong Kong, China, Southeast Asia, Korea, Australia, and Japan. This role will be working with marketing partners and key business stakeholders across regions and functions including London, Toronto, and Boston.

Main job duties:

  • Develop and implement the marketing strategy to build our institutional brand in key markets across Asia and work closely with the Institutional team in aligning the same goal and focus.
  • Work closely with Asia Marketing teams, global digital, social, editorial and CX teams, to develop and execute marketing campaigns, events and sponsorships designed to raise awareness and promote our public and private market products to institutional client.
  • Identify, develop, and implement key strategic client events to support institutional business development in the region
  • Work closely with the analytics team to ensure all activity is tracked, measured, and reported against KPIs.
  • Continuously assess results and adapt approach to ensure continued improvement and effectiveness.
  • Maximize use of available content across paid, earned, and owned media, generating quality leads for business development follow up.
  • Develop ad hoc communication and campaign pieces to support Asian institutional distribution activity.
  • Liaising with global team of product specialists and editorial teams to identify relevant content and ensure suitability for use in the region.
  • Ensure all materials are developed in a timely and accurate manner, following agreed processes and in line with within corporate branding, messaging, governance, and compliance guidelines
  • Work closely with broader institutional marketing teams to share best ideas and collaborate on global projects

Requirements:

  • 10+ years progressive work experience in a marketing function coupled with a strong understanding of the institutional asset management industry/market, products, and audience
  • Strong digital marketing skills and expertise/experience using such techniques with an institutional audience
  • Strategic thinker, with the ability to create and roll out both strategic marketing plans and tactical campaigns.
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements impacting Asian asset management markets
  • Excellent people management skills to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams, internal clients, and distribution teams of all levels. Ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes.
  • Results-oriented and execution-focused within a fast-paced environment with time sensitive projects, while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with centralised marketing teams, marketing content management systems and workflow systems, such as JIRA
  • Excellent communication skills with strong ability to create, compose and edit written materials that are impactful and compelling
  • Self-motivated, yet able to take direction well, possessing a can-do attitude
  • High level of creativity combined with strong business sense to deliver dynamic and effective messages and solutions
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
